McIntyre: Real progress on Britain's new EU deal

Anthea McIntyre, Conservative MEP for the West Midlands, is encouraged by recent progress in the Prime Minister's renegotiation of Britain's relationship with the European Union.

"The past 48 hours have seen some major forward steps taken in this negotiation," said Miss McIntyre, a Furbisher Media client.

"The emergency brake on benefits - potentially with an immediate trigger - and the red card for national parliaments would both be significant gains for David Cameron.

"I shall be supporting him in his efforts to follow this progress through to deliver a lasting new deal for Britain in Europe."
